Recently we have joined the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC). This is a national grouping that seeks to support and encourage churches as they reach out with the good news of Christ to our nation. The FIEC consists of nearly 600 churches nationwide and has a vision to be “independent churches working together to reach the nation for Christ.” We are thrilled to have become part of this group and are looking forward to playing our part in the work of the gospel both here in Beccles and wider afield.
The FIEC is made up of its near 600 churches which do the work of the gospel in their specific location. These churches are supported by a central staff team based in Market Harborough. The FIEC is led by John Stevens (pictured), the national director, along with 4 other directors. John came to visit Beccles Baptist Church back in March when he preached and then stayed for a Question and Answer session with the church family. John has written the following article outling the latest 12 churches that have recently joined the FIEC, including Beccles Baptist Church.
We have decided to join the FIEC because our involvement with them will enable us to: (1) be better resources to reach out to those who don’t know Christ in and around Beccles; (2) be better connected with the work of the gospel through this national church grouping; (3) be better able to support and encourage other churches through our affiliation to FIEC; (4) raise our profile as a church through being connected with a national church grouping. It’s our prayer that God will both bless us through our involvement with the FIEC and enable us as a church to be a blessing to others through the FIEC too.
Having joined the FIEC we will continue, also, to be part of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (East Anglia). Beccles Baptist Church has been part of this grouping for many years. The Association helps provide us with a regional focus and we look forward to continuing our involvement with this grouping too.
