Hope Explored is an informal and relaxed three-session course for anyone who wants to find hope, peace and purpose in life. The course is free and it’s open to anyone. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible, and you won’t be asked to pray or sing and read out loud. You can ask any question you like, or you can just sit and listen. Whoever you are and whatever you’re thinking, Hope Explored is a place for you to discover the hope of a future that is better than you imagine.

Daytime Course

Our next course will run fortnightly on Wednesday lunchtime. It will begin with a light lunch at 12pm followed by the course which is a mix of discussion and talks on video. Each session will conclude by 1:45pm. The dates are as follows:

Wednesday 13 May
Wednesday 27 May
Wednesday 10 June

Overview of each session

Each session lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and include the following parts:

  • Light Lunch – for all those who would like it the meeting will begin with a light lunch with a selection of sandwiches and cold drinks.
  • Brief talk on video - this introduces the theme of the week: Hope; Peace; and Purpose.
  • Starter discussion - each week begins with an open discussion about different ways we can view things in life like: (week 1) where’s the world heading; (week 2) where do we find peace; and (week 3) where do we find purpose?
  • Talk on video - there’s then a more extended talk for about 15 minutes on video. This looks at a bit of the Bible and explores how it is that Jesus can bring us real hope, peace and purpose.
  • Discussion & Bible study - we talk about what was said on the video, fielding any questions people might have, and then briefly look at a passage from Luke’s Gospel.
