In place of our Sunday evening services in March we are running something called The School of Theology. This time we are going to be considering the Cross of Christ—this is a topic of such importance that we need to regularly remind ourselves of what God accomplished through the Cross.

The evenings of The School of Theology will begin and end in song. But the main part of the evening will then split into three parts: a talk; refreshments; and then Question & Answer—much like a Hot Topic evening.

The aim of The School of Theology is to equip everyone at church, from Meeting Point (our group for young people) up, with a better understanding of God’s work at the Cross so we might trust God more deeply, serve him more wholeheartedly and speak of him more willingly.

Even if you don’t normally come to the evening services, do consider coming to these evenings in March. You don’t need to come to all the sessions, although the more you to come to the more you’ll get out of them.

The plan

Each evening will run from 6:30-8pm in the main church building.

It’s our hope that this will be the first of many topics considered in The School of Theology. And the plan is, should people find this helpful, to run a series of evenings like this once or twice a year.
